Food Safety & Quality

Food Safety

At Kahlon Farms, we prioritize food safety and quality above all else. We are committed to providing our customers with safe and high-quality food products. To achieve this, we have implemented an effective HACCP-based food safety and quality system program, which has been independently audited by third-party certification bodies following the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) – Safe Quality Food Standards.

We also adhere to the food safety standards and regulations of the Safe Food for Canadians Act by the Canadian Food Safety Inspection Agency (CFIA). Moreover, we are SQF Level 2 certified and Kosher Certified. All fresh berries grown by Kahlon Farms are Canada Gap Certified. We provide resources to ensure continuous food safety training, adoption of new policies, and technology to ensure the highest quality products.

Food Quality

Food safety and quality begins on the farm. All our local growers follow the Canada Gap food safety standards, ensuring that the incoming fruit is of the highest quality. Before being used in production, the fruit is thoroughly inspected and graded. The berries are then washed, inspected, cleaned, and given a final grade, after which they are stored in cold storage to preserve their freshness. Our Quality Assurance team strictly follows a system of procedures that ensures food safety and quality are met in accordance with Federal and Provincial requirements.
